Claude VEYRET has been a government-qualified architect for over 30 years. He specialises in the design and construction of individual houses for private individuals. His three sectors of intervention are contemporary individual houses, lofts and renovations or extensions of existing houses.

A contemporary house is not a "modern" style house, but it is a house resulting from a current global reflection, which makes it possible to answer a given program, with a particular ground. It will be designed to be in total harmony with its future owners and its site. Each house will be unique and will correspond absolutely to the request made to the architect. It must also be contemporary in the materials used and in the construction techniques employed. We are living in an era where, for example, very large windows can be made, and this new possibility allows the house to be completely open to the outside, and to more easily extend the family's life into the garden.

A loft is a dwelling created in a building that originally housed an industrial, agricultural or commercial activity. The great difficulty will be to provide an acceptable level of comfort in terms of heating capacity, solar gain or acoustic treatment. Most of these buildings are premises with few openings to the outside, so the design of a loft will consist of finding additional openings on the periphery, but also on the roof or through the judicious creation of patios. If you want to stay within a reasonable budget, the materials will have to be chosen accordingly, which is why a loft often has a raw, industrial look.

A house renovation or extension should be carried out in such a way as to "magnify" the existing part and to make the new part distinct. Under no circumstances should one try to give the impression that the extension of the house was built at the same time as the old part.

All these areas of intervention respond to the same problem: living well or better in one's future home, making the most of new technologies and materials, while respecting nature and the environment.
