NIVEAU 5 ARCHITECTURE is available for new projects

Niveau 5 Architecture is the story of two architects from Marseille, Sophie PES and Magali JEAN, united by 40 years of friendship and the same passion for "natural architecture" from Maurice Sauzet's "Espace vécu" workshop at the Marseille Luminy School of Architecture. Researching the continuity of space derived from the temples of Kyoto in Japan, a true discovery of architecture as a relationship with the other, as opposed to "object" architecture, this workshop was the starting point of a rich professional collaboration from 1998 onwards, of numerous study trips and of the creation of the NIVEAU 5 Architecture brand in 2004.

Working under their own name, Sophie PES and Magali JEAN practice and claim the diversity of projects, new construction, extension and/or renovation, public and cultural facilities, tertiary buildings, collective and individual housing, shops, individual houses, etc. Surrounded by various technical design offices (structural, fluid, thermal, etc.), they provide their diagnoses, identify the strengths and weaknesses of the project and design with the permanent objective of respecting the budget. Their experience in site monitoring, reflecting the evolution of the project from its opening to the acceptance of the work, also enables them to train in judicial expertise in 2019 and 2021.

Niveau 5 Architecture or the forgotten values of living. Each of their productions, whether public or private, communal or individual, is part of an approach to living space that aims at the fulfilment of individuals and respect for the surrounding environment. The lived space stems from the user's practice of his or her living space or from the representation he or she has of it. This type of approach makes it possible, through numerous exchanges, to personalise each project to each user, taking into account their history, personality, habits, desires and also their difficulties. It also allows us to point out the dysfunctions of the spaces in which we live and to remedy them.

Guided by the fundamentals of "natural architecture" such as the path, the framing of views, the inside-outside, the counter-spaces, the veiled views or the erasure of limits, the Sophie PES and Magali JEAN team is all the more strongly involved in the respect of the environment. This voluntarist approach is mainly a question of common sense, rather than a constraint that muzzles architectural expression.

Thus, the house is not just a "living machine" but rather a place where all beings in nature live in harmony: inside - outside, architecture - nature, man - environment.
