Waldemar Antoine FADDOUL followed his academic career in architecture at the School of Architecture of the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts, obtaining his higher studies diploma in Architecture in 2001. Subsequently, he completed professional training at the Paris Belleville School of Architecture, with a focus on the city, Mediterranean heritage, and more specifically the Middle East [D.E.S.S. 2002]. He also followed training in urban projects and regional planning [D.P.E.A. 2003].

In 2004, Waldemar established his workshop in Paris, then also in Beirut in 2005. During this period, he managed various projects of varied nature, covering areas such as residential, industrial, commercial, tertiary, and town planning. Fundamentally, his conviction in architecture in the service of man gave birth to the founding idea of ​​1% Architecture.

Named 1% Architecture in a nod to a culture of non-conformism, the workshop deliberately positions itself on the margins of the remaining 99%. Its project approach is structured around fundamental criteria, including solidity, efficiency, aesthetics and socio-cultural identity. This approach requires strict ethical, legal, technical and financial rigor to better meet the needs and desires of the project owner, while respecting their budgetary and time constraints.

For 1% Architecture, architecture goes beyond a simple professional practice. It is a way of life, a means of artistic, socio-cultural and political expression in the service of society. The workshop considers urban planning, the creation of interiors, objects and visual media as natural and complementary extensions of architecture, allowing the architect to intervene at all scales of the human environment.

Committed to preserving the environment, the workshop promotes responsible architecture on its scale. By respecting rigorous energy criteria, our projects aim to create energy-efficient spaces. We integrate modern technologies and renewable energies such as green facades and roofs, solar energy, water recycling, etc. In addition, we promote the use of natural materials from local sources and encourage local artisanal and industrial know-how, in a voluntary approach in favor of sustainable development.
