ATELIER W is available for new projects

Drawing on their professional experience within different agencies on projects of various scales (sports complexes, school and early childhood groups, administrative buildings, etc.), Anne-Laure Vivion and Baptiste Villemont began by collaborating on rehabilitation and extension projects spread across the Bordeaux metropolis.

The creation in 2017 of the Atelier W architectural agency is the result of a common desire of the two future partners to offer sustainable and sensible architectural solutions, in a particular urban context.

After several years of practice, they were joined in February 2020 by Suzanne Gautié, recently graduated from the Bordeaux architecture school. The arrival of a third person in the structure makes it possible to broaden the scope of action on diverse terrains.

The architectural identity of the agency is inscribed and inspired by the historical, social, environmental and climatic context. This contextual interpretation allows each project to be understood as a unique and stimulating subject, whatever its scale.

The agency is guided by the particular care in the choice of materials used to offer eco-responsible, healthy and long-lasting constructions. By guaranteeing close collaboration between project owners and design offices, Atelier W strives to control and raise awareness of energy and environmental costs during the design phase and for the lifespan of projects.

Today, the agency continues its development by working on multiple programs, for both public and private clients, which allows it to refine the architecture it offers and assert its values.

The team is now accustomed, after several years of practice, to working on sensitive sites, while respecting users and the environment. It is essential that each stakeholder finds their place in the construction of the project, while guaranteeing fair and appropriate architecture.

The three partners of the structure (Suzanne Gautié having become co-manager in the same capacity as Anne-Laure Vivion and Baptiste Villemont in 2024), trained in June 2021 at RE2020, in order to deepen their knowledge in the field of thermal rehabilitation. This training was beneficial since it enabled the acquisition of broader environmental thinking, including in particular the origin of the materials used in the calculation of the carbon footprint of each construction site.

This approach aims to direct, from its origin, the project towards a bioclimatic construction, simple, coherent for its users and respectful of the site and the existing ones, living or not.
