AUS is an architectural firm founded in 2016. It develops projects in France and internationally, both as an independent agency and in collaboration with major firms such as Lacaton & Vassal (2021 Pritzker Architecture Prize winner).
This dual approach allows the firm to explore projects of varying scales while benefiting from a solid foothold in the contemporary architectural landscape.
AUS is driven by the ability of architecture to evolve according to the desires and constraints of its users and has the ability to intervene in varied contexts at all project scales and on a wide variety of programs. Each project is based on a detailed analysis and meticulous observation of the immediate environment.
AUS seeks to unlock the potential of what already exists rather than imposing a fixed vision. This conceptual approach allows for intervention within the existing environment; it is a true driving force for creation, leading to unexpected and often exceptional results.
AUS integrates the user as the primary actor: space requires an active role to appropriate it, complete it, and reveal its full potential. AUS's philosophy is not limited to a specific type of project, but rather covers a very broad scope of intervention. Its work ranges from concrete projects to more experimental projects.
AUS works on scenography, renovations and rehabilitations, extensions, urban proposals, and new construction, with expertise in interventions in buildings of significant heritage interest.
AUS adopts a cross-disciplinary approach that allows it to interact with diverse architectural, urban, and heritage contexts. This openness allows it to explore the interactions between the old and the contemporary, between the city and architecture, while adapting its responses to the challenges of each site.
AUS draws on an approach that combines pragmatism and contextual sensitivity to propose projects that are both rooted in their environment and embody an innovative vision.
